Long-distance move from California to Massachusetts

Moving service.

I had great trouble having them return phone calls or emails.  I was guaranteed that my belongings would be delivered no later than 8 October 2014.  Unfortunately they delivered on 11 October 2014 and it was pouring rain. Several delicate items were greatly damaged (a dresser was so damaged it had to be stored upside down until my handyman was able to fix it).  A well-packed mirror was damaged.  One box was lost.  When I contacted them regarding the damage   box, they got right back to me; but the results have been nothing for over two months.     My biggest frustration has been the lack of response and customer service.  .

Local move within California

I whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone.

GP Movers moved me in May. The crew was beyond courteous, thoughtful, helpful and AMAZING!! They are true professionals, and while I probably paid a little bit more than I might have with another company, it was well worth they money because I had complete peace of mind from beginning to end. The people in the office were really nice too. Sean, my rep walked me through the whole process of the service. GP Movers makes it a point to take interest in its customers and carefully handled all of my belongings. I whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone who is moving. The whole process is stressful enough, and the guys who helped me totally took away all of that stress.

Long-distance move from California to Hawaii

Lost and broken.

This review is really hard to rate, only because my experience with GPM started off so great. The company is very polite, courteous, and friendly. The salesman was patient with me and answered all of my questions. They send someone out to your house to assess your move, and those guys were also very polite, professional, clean, etc. the companies pricing is very reasonable as well. We filled out all the paperwork, you pay half up front, and half on delivery. The scheduled day arrives, and it's time for the movers to show up. They did arrive within the time window that they gave me, although it was at the end, so I waited for a couple of hours for them to show up. The movers were polite and pretty quick. They had all my furniture wrapped up and loaded on the truck, as well as all of my boxes, within an hour and a half. I tipped them very well. My belongings arrived in Hawaii on time. Actually a little early! A company called me and told me what day and time that they would be delivering my belongings. That day arrived, and we ended up waiting around ALL day for them. It was close to 7 pm when they showed up, and pitch black outside. No city lights here! I was told that I had to pay them right away. They won't even open the truck door until they have the money. And it has to be cash or a money order. No credit card on this end! Had a hard time scraping up that much cash, mostly because I just moved here, didn't have a local bank account yet, etc. Anyway, they unload my stuff and bring it in the house, and I'm missing a box. A large one. Ok, they tell me that it's probably back in the warehouse and that they will check in the morning, and bring it to the house. "We'll call you.." Hahahahahaha! No. it's more like "we have your money, so see ya" And I tipped them on this end too! Looking back, I'm wondering why. Of course, I never got a call from the mover (Tony). I had to call his cell phone many times and leave messages, and also call the company, before I finally get a phone call back. And they are nice. Said maybe delivered to someone else. How? we check off each box with matching lists, so how does large box go to another job site when client and mover both have a numbered list that they are checking off together? Or "maybe we left it on the mainland", "we will look for it, we will find it, no problem, sorry" And that was it. Nothing else. I called and called and called, left message after message, no callback. All I get is voicemail. Finally, I start calling the sales department, and Zack (very nice person) tells me that he will talk to Eden, and she will be calling me. Hahahahaha. A month of phone calls and messages, and FINALLY I get to talk to someone (Eden). Lots of apologies, they are going through some changes, they are not happy with the claims department, it's the holidays, etc. At this point, of course, I've unpacked, and I find that lots of things are broken. It's almost as if someone actually stood on the box with crystal and glassware! Just shattered! Not to worry, Eden tells me. they will resolve this. Also was told that due to the lack of communication from GPM, they would be doing an in-house claim to speed up the process and resolve asap. Fast forward another 3 months, 2 more people, and a whole new claims company, and of course, many many gaps in communication, and I received a letter from a claims dept stating that their findings are final, and sign here for $99? Really? I tipped the movers 3 times that amount! One Waterford glass cost almost that much! What about the lost box? No one ever even mentions that. I'm a little insulted. And the sad thing is, I will most likely be moving back to Cali. I was hoping to use this company, they had everything so right until it comes to something being lost or damaged. I understand that accidents do happen. It's just the way it was handled. It was like they had my money so who cares? This whole thing has taken almost 6 months now.

Long-distance move from California to Pennsylvania

I will definitely use GP Movers Again!!

We’d like to take a moment to thank various members of your staff for the wonderful help they provided us moving this past week. First, we thank Mike, for being very friendly over the phone when making our initial booking. Second, we thank Avi, for his visit to our apartment to provide us with a complimentary estimate of the cost. He was very pleasant. Third, we thank Adolfo and Jimmy, for their wonderful and efficient packing. They were very friendly and a pleasure to have in our home. They got tremendous moving skills. They refused to let us lift a finger, and couldn’t have been more pleasant to deal with. And, man, those guys really work hard! We’d heard wonderful things about GP Movers from our friends who also moved with your company. Now, it makes perfect sense why my friends have been so happy with the service. Please consider us repeat customers whenever we decide to move again in the future. You folks took a tremendous amount of the stress out of moving! Our thanks and very best wishes,.

Long-distance move from California to New Jersey

Terribly communication.

This is  review of a move from CA to NJ. Pick up April 22nd 2014 - Delivery June 17th. The move was booked with Jerry Willenbring. Our first instinct of GP movers was very good. It seemed like a smaller but very dedicated company. During the move we found that this was far from the case. There was a lot of miscommunication and we’ve been in contact with close to 10 different people and several companies as everything was outsourced. Specifically asked if they were a broker or if they had own equipment. Was told they weren’t a broker so having to deal with several companies surprised me. Getting hold of anybody has been very difficult. They don’t reply to email, I’ve been sent around to talk to several different people. One of the problems was with an exercise rack which we were told not to dis-assemble. As per the loading crew if needed the crew delivering would be dis-assemble. Was later told that they wouldn’t be able to dis-assemble when delivering so this turned into a huge problem. They finally agreed to take care of the dis-assembly when delivering. I initially sent in my request for delivery on May 19th - this time the email goes to HHG Logistics. I specifically say and put in writing that delivery can only be mon-fri between 9 am and 4 pm also I request a certificate of insurance which is needed to be allowed to make deliveries where I live. I don’t hear anything for a long time but finally Friday the 13th I get a call that they will be here Sunday at 8 am! I still don’t have the certificate of insurance and as mentioned delivery cannot be during the weekend. Finally Monday around 3 pm I get the insurance document so as per instructions from Jerry Willenbring I call the driver to coordinate when he will deliver. The driver now tells me that he has dropped the load and is on his way back to CA! What!! I call GP movers and ask to speak to a manager, get a hold of Anat Lehrman who like all the other I have talked to promises to take care of things. Anat turned out to be very dedicated and did follow up on agreed times, but at this point I had simply had enough of GP movers. Late Monday afternoon we finally get confirmation that delivery will be Tuesday just around 9 am. The driver will call me 15 minutes prior to arrival. Tuesday 17th. 9 am - haven’t heard anything so try and call the company (Prime Van Lines) Can’t get the right person on the phone until 9.45 am - he now tells me sorry but the driver was late this morning, but now he is on his way and will be here around 10.30. 10.23 - called for update from driver. Ooohhh sorry traffic on the turnpike - we’ll be there within the next half an hour. He’s is local trucker - he should know how the traffic flows! 10.57 - driver does not pickup phone anymore! 11.05 - driver still doesn’t answer phone! 11.15 - got hold of dispatch - was told he will be here in 10 minutes 11.18 - driver finally calls back saying he’s 10-15 minutes away 11.35 - truck finally arrives 7.45 - pm they are finally done unloading several hours past deadline of 4 pm The move was booked including unpacking and assembly of furniture but the crew had absolutely no tools and it was so late that we sent them away and took care of the assembly ourselves. We had a few damages which GP agreed to reimburse as a compensation for the experience. This was the first time we booked a full-service move expecting this to be a stress and worry free move, but this turned out to be the most stressful move we have ever had. I will not use GP Movers again and cannot recommend them.

Long-distance move from Arizona to Alaska

Highly recommended!!

Graduating. I touch it would never happen. But I finally did it.I was able to graduate with the help of all my relatives. An Now I have moved back home. I'm reviewing GP Movers. They were great. I called so many moving companies. There prices where so so HI. Besides the fact that I'm on a very thing budget. So I remembered my school mate. Whom let a year before had used them. I called him and he gave me their phone number. That gave me a referral discount that helped a lot. These guys came in in five hours had everything boxed, wrapped and loaded into their truck. I paid half of my move at the pick up. I had some extra charges I didn't anticipate. They were nice enough to let me pay them when they delivered my stuff. Once again Thanks to GP Movers in back home with all of my things. Now t look for a job. As a professional in the business world.

Long-distance move from Arizona to Florida

Buyer Beware of GP Movers.

I used GP Movers to move my things from AZ to FL. The initial contact, estimate was good however it went downhill fast when I recieved my things. Once my things started coming into my new home I started noticing most of my furniture was damaged, my grill is unusable as the bottom frame was destroyed and things were missing. Rigo who moved my things knew the items were missing but didn't say anything until I asked and he of course got his money right away. There was one item I had reservations about sending with Gp Movers but was reassured during the estimate they would pack it and they know how to move these things so they are not damaged. Not only was it not packed specially as I paid for it was NEVER sent along with a bed. They are still sitting in the warehouse in AZ and I have been told by Sara that they will be sent when there is "space available" on the trucks. It has been past the 21 days that there contract allows for and there is NO urgency to get my belongings to me or any compensation for not getting all my items to me. I was told since they got 99% of my things to me they"feel" they have fulfilled the contract.
In addition, my other items that are missing are not even being mentioned by GP Movers anymore.
The communication on part of Eden and Sara has not been the greatest. It takes at least 24 hours if not longer for someone to get back to you because they don't answer the phone, you have to leave messages. I also got the run around after being told by their dispatch that my things would arrive between the 10-15th and never showed up. No one from GP Movers even bothered to call with an update. I realize that there could be weather or even mechanical delays but any kind of information from GP Movers would've been nice.
I used this company because of the good reviews and initial service BUT this is a definite buyer beware! I hope no one else has to go through this.. moving is stressful enough :(.

Customer care.

Best moving experience. I've been scammed in the past and it was hard to trust any one to move my belongings. These guys did an excellent job. Alex, Zak, Ronnie, Marlene all answered my questions and were all informative. They did not try to cheat me but was sure to make my moving and delivery day as smooth as possible. Indeed they did make the move the most relaxing for us. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of good, efficient moving service.
